A Lifetime Dedicated to African Diplomacy

Roll Stéphane Ngomat is a Gabonese diplomat and international relations expert whose career has been dedicated to advancing peace, security, diplomacy, and sustainable development across the African continent. Holding a Higher Degree in Political Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, he has built an international reputation through leadership, strategic diplomacy, and continental cooperation.

Since February 2023, he has served as President of the African Peace and Security Union (APSU), leading initiatives focused on conflict prevention, mediation, peace building, security sector reform, and the advancement of youth and women in peace and security

Prior to this appointment, he chaired the Peace and Security Department of the African Union’s Economic, Social and Cultural Council (AU-ECOSOCC), where he contributed to continental peace initiatives and security policy development. Earlier, he served within the Political Affairs Department, working on governance, electoral processes, humanitarian affairs, and human rights.


Throughout his career, Roll Stéphane Ngomat has participated in election observation missions, advised governments, engaged with Heads of State, and contributed to policy development on issues including migration, governance, and the Women, Peace and Security Agenda. His work continues to strengthen cooperation between governments, institutions, civil society, and international partners across Africa.
